I tried three different images of females here. None of them would post. C'est la vie. Yup, lots of male birds are more colorful than the females. They gotta get a mate, and looking good is how they do it.

I think that cape buffalo are wonderful looking animals. Back in the sixties when women were wearing their hair in flips, I thought the cape buffalo had a flip built in. Their horns look like flips to me--with lots and lots of hairspray.

Although vultures aren't especially beautiful on the ground, on the wing, they're spectacular.

Sorry about that. Triple post. a2k today is driving me nuts. And lots of others too. However, the triple post is a mystery. I swear I clicked on submit only twice. Didn't think either had been entered, but I didn't click a third time. I saved the post, thinking I'd come back and try again. Don't worry. I won't.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Roberta, Those "hang ups" that seems to take forever to post is a problem for most of us - and we end up posting multiples. GRRR is right!

Thanks for the barnyard animals, dj. Each of them is special in its own way. Love dem fainting goats. I've seen film of that.

I'm been having a frustrating time trying to find something to post. I watched a tv program earlier this evenig (Blue Planet: Seas of Life) and saw a magnificent sailfish. Truly spectacular. I tried to find a photo to post here. All the fish in the photos I could find had a hook in their mouth. Not what I had in mind. I gather that photos of fish that swim far from shore are hard to come by--avec or sans hooks.

Then I had a wonderful idea. I'll post photos of animals that have magnificent camouflage. The problem with that may be a bit obvious. If the photo showed the animal in it's natural habitat, you can't see the animal. If the animal isn't in its natural habitat, then the camouflage seems irrelevant.

Back to the drawing board for me.
