dj, haven't you been busy. I'm grateful.

The hare is wonderful. Do they turn white in the winter or is that their color all year round?

I actually tried to post that very picture of the carabou. a2k wouldn't let me. Glad to see it. They are spectacular animals.

Postively love the pic of the whale and the penguins. Colorwise they could be related.

That's some fancy shmancy worm.

Great face on the Burmese cat. Great color, too.

The blue great dane and the weimaraner had me drooling all over the keyboard. Wonderful smoky colors.

littlek (or should I call you Aunt littlek?), Thanks for those wonderful mastiffs. Also great smoky color. Didn't know they came in that color. Although I like dogs of all sizes, I'm kinda partial to the biggies.

My cousin had two malamutes. They're big.

There was also a golden retriever in the family:

a couple i knew had a mastiff, we used to play this great game of tug of war, using a three foot long piece of pine (about a 1 inch by 2 inch canvas stretcher frame) , you would grab each end and the dog would bite down in the middle, the game ended when the dog got bored and bit the piece of wood in two

Jays are related to crows, I learned that a few weeks ago....

Blue Jays all but disappeared from MA, they're back and loud as ever!

Pinon/scrub Jays are a splash of contrasting color in the buff and pine tones of the southwest.

I rarely see mastiffs in NYC. They're bigger than many Noo Yawk kitchens. Here are the two kinds of dog had when I was a kid.

A black cocker spaniel (mine was named Major):

And a white spitz named Mitzi.

littlek, Thanks for the photo of the malamute, your sister's dog. Is that the sister who just had the baby?

dj, You are in rare form today. I've always loved the soft smooth look of mourning doves.

I've heard loons in the movies, but never in person, or in loon. I'm sure it's a special sound.

The close-up of the cardinal is great. Get to see the the feathers that make up the peak.

Trying to remember if I've seen a cedar waxwing. Don't think so. It's a beauty.

Jays are loud and make their presence known. Love the blue.

The shrike with the lizard is an amazing shot. Thanks for that one and for them all.
