Margie Wrye is one of our local photographers that shares her wonderful photos with the public via the local paper's website. Here are a few more by her.

Ornate Tree Lizard. Pretty good camo til he stands up to flash the girls. This poor guy looks like he has picked up some cactus spines, probably making a mad dash to escape a predator.

Desert Spiny Lizard

Male Phainopepla bringing home the bacon..err bugs. I'm thinking that it will take a lot of these skinny bugs to fill that mouth below

and the mouth that the bugs were destined for

Thanks again, mesquite. Amazing shots. Almost tactile in their detail.

Not sure what this is. It might be some kind of sea slug. Francis will stop by and fill us in (I hope).

Monkeyface, a 30 pound, 35 year old snapper who lives in an underwater wildlife reserve. Would be a damn fine smoker, too Evil or Very Mad

Great-looking fish, Tigershark. Just one question. How do you smoke underwater?

Speaking of fish, here's a flying fish:

Hello Roberta, Tigershark, and mesquite.
Last weekend I had one of the most amazing experiences, of nature, in my life.

So far this year, the bald eagle that visits my part of the Michigan woods hasn't appeared. I hope he's OK. They don't live forever, but I sure hope nobody shot or poisoned him. They are such beautiful thieves. Wink

On my way to work this AM the guy in front of me hit a bird. Feathers everywhere. Not sure what kind of bird. Not long ago my wife and her cousin hit a crow in his SUV. It put a softball sized dent in the hood.

alex, It had to have been a breathtaking experience to see one of those birds.

cj, Sorry to hear to your eagle is missing.

I saw a bald eagle at the zoo. Dem tings is big! Never saw one flying, though. NYC has hawks and falcons, but I haven't heard of eagles moving into the area. Sigh.

mother duck and her kiddies resting up between swims in lake ontario .
i find it fascinating to see the ducklings bopping through the waves towering over them - they seem to enjoy it .

Hamburger, Thanks for the cute ducks. Of course they enjoy bopping on the water. They're ducks!
