I forget the name of these queer looking jelly fish.. But they are about the size of a quarter and have these wonderful delicate ... hairy things.. that grow on their underside that you can only see when you almost smash your face against the glass they are stuck to.

Im sorry this is so big, but if it isnt, you would not see the detail.

shewolf, Sorry I can't help with the jellyfish. I have no idea what kind that is. Someone will know. As to the shark, I think it's a bull shark.

Izzie, Great tiger pic. He looks pensive. The owl monkey looks happy.

Tigershark, That snow leapard looks like it just tasted something ooky. Great shot.

mesquite, Thanks for the javelinas. The mother appears to have had a recent encounter with some cactus. The babies are cuties.

When I was looking around to try to find shewolf's jellyfish, I ran across one of these--purple-striped jellyfish:

And when I was checking on the bull shark, I found a frilled shark:

I think they are Cassiopeia Xamachana, in the Ephyra stage (babies)..

Francis, I thought you might be the one who would know what shewolf's jellyfish are.

Izzie, Jellyfish are amazing, aren't they? Thanks for the pic.

jes and Francis, Thanks for the grouses--large and small. Spectacular boids. Wish the baby didn't have that antenna stuck around its neck.

ANNIE , our neighbour's big old dog made her afternoon visit .
we were working in the garden and she came to shake , get some treats and a good belly rub .
we were away last week and she kept watch on our property - as i had instructed her to do before we left . another neighbour who came to collect the mail received some disinct warnings to "stay away" !
we have the best watch dog , and all she asks for are some dog biscuits and a belly rub !

btw ANNIE is getting on in age - she's about nine years old and was getting somewhat slow during the winter - but after her "summercut" she's as frisky as a puppy !

Cute, ain't it? Very Happy

I'd probably end up in jail, if I tried sending him over there.

They aren't really endangered, but need protection from introduced pests like stoats, dogs and so on.

Quite a few species here are in the same boat, as they evolved with no natural predators and then suddenly got exposed to them after us humans arrived and brought other critters with us.
