Alex, Thanks for the kingfisher. I guess I should know what the fish are, but I don't. What are they?

Here's another kingfisher:

This one looks so pensive, but is probably thinking something along the lines of, "I like crickets."

Definitely pensive, jes. Your guess that he's pondering crickets is as good as any. I think he's thinking about the family.

Key deer. I'm wondering what they're looking at. The copy provides no info.

alex, Thanks for the owl, albeit midmeal.

Tigershark, Sorry to hear about the poor young woman. There are sharks throughout the oceans. It's amazing that more people aren't attacked.

Stunning, Francis. Why did I have such a hard time finding a photo like one of those? Obviously I'm looking in the wrong places. Sigh.

This is 'Shrek' a sheep in New Zealand who 'went bush' for about 6 years. This is his fleece untouched:

That strikes me as kind of cruel, Tigershark. I hate to think how the poor animal felt during the summer. I also have to wonder whether it was able to move freely.

Oops. I got so distracted by the unshorn sheep that I forgot to acknowledge this. Thanks for the kind words, Francis. I'm not good at finding things--never was good at research. I like to think that what I lack in knowledge I make up for in determination.

Yes.. but before we started removing their hair for clothing.. what did they do?

I bet their hair was long then... They have to be adapted for long hair or they would not survive..

( I dont think?)

Wild sheep do not have the kind of wool shown in that photo. Domestic sheep are bred for "unnaturally" thick wool--so that they can me shorn.
