The above loon is called a common loon. I think.
This one is called a red throated loon.

Roberta,
You post the most beautiful pictures. I love that one with the bear in the cab!

Arella Mae, I'm glad you like the photos. I've recently been searching through award-winning pictures. Found a few doozies. The bear in the cab remains a mystery. I tried to find out something about it online, but all I got from google was a bunch of taxi companies with the word bear in the name. (I'm not good at googling.)
I especially like the cats and the fishing boat pic. Tomorrow I'll have a new favorite.

the left side of the windshield should at least be partially obscured by the critter...

Not to me.
Russians have lots of bears and they tame them.
Often they show them on the streets.
So, it's not surprising than taxis take them for a ride.

Staring at the picture, thinking it might be contrived (photoshop). But the shadow under the bear's arm would be a difficult effect to add. Still, what reg says may be true. Wouldn't some of the bear's body be visible through the window.
Dunno.

Thanks, Francis. Parakeets are near and dear to my heart. So are cats.
I've had six parakeets, but no greenies. Like the one in the photo.
I had a bird and a dog at the same time. That teeny bird terrorized that big dog.
