mesquite, You found the place where I got the photos and the explanation I read. There's only speculation as to why they do this. I had no idea mantas breached. Stumbled onto a picture and pursued it.
It wasn't all that long ago that we didn't know that white sharks breach. It was originally thought that they left the water only off the coast of South Africa. Now they've been found to do it elsewhere.
Rosborne, Thanks for the video. What an experience that must be. Sitting on a boat minding your own business, and these giant animals come sailing out of the water.
