A samoyed (an also-ran) won me over.

Good looking Dobie, nice face. 'Course I'm already in love with the baying Uno. And the Samoyed has a great presence too...

Hey, reg, a dobie without the cropped ears. I like the look. Don't see it much.

osso, There was a close-up of the samoyed's face last night. Something about it--I melted.

Uno is a dog with lots of personality. The crowds were deafening when he was on. When he won, they gave him a standing ovation. Never saw that before at Westminster. I read that while his handler was being interviewed, he tried to eat the microphone. Gotta love it.

This Feather Star I got in Phuket last year. Even right up close, they look like bird feathers.

Wilso, Great to see you here. How's the little one?

Wonderful photos. I'm impressed as hell. I've always thought that Port Jackson sharks are other-wordly looking. Of course, I've never seen one in the flesh. Thanks for posting.

Speaking of other-worldly, here's a frilled shark:

And an adult hooded seal with a balloony thing that inflates from his nasal cavity. Female seals seam to like it.

I knew it was a shark, but didn't know what kind until I showed the dive master when we got out. It was pretty docile. I was swimming over the top of a ledge and saw it underneath me. I had to dive down, turn around and unclip my camera. It didn't move until after it had been flashed a couple of time, then it just sidled away slowly.

Not surprised to hear they're fairly docile. Must have been great to see such a creature just swimming around.

my eldest son's beautiful Bella - not sure if I posted her before or Annie - but she was a very beautiful reptile - especially mid-shed!

Lammergeier (aka, bearded vulture from South America). These big birds carry bones high in the air and drop them on rocks. The bones break, and the birds get the marrow.

Animal pictures I took while in Hawaii from Feb 1 to 13.

These birds were unafraid of humans; reminded me of the Galapagos Islands.
