Jes, Thought of Timber when I was looking. Will any of us who knew him be able to see a bald eagle and not think of him?

Rosborne, What are your other nine choices? Interesting idea. Top ten beauties. I need to think about this--long and hard.

It's a long thread. If I get some time I'll have to go back through and select the ten best.

I had the same thought. A long thread. A few have popped into my mind. If I can find them through a search, I'll do this.

I'm abandoning the project, rosborne. I went through about 40 pages. Too many choices. Which bird is more beautiful? Which nudibranch? Can't decide. But you posted something a about a year ago that took my breath away. Still does. A sea slug.

Hi Crispy and welcome to a2k. On this thread, people post pictures of animals. I'm assuming that you like turtles. Here are a few:
Here's an alligator snapping turtle taking a stroll on a road--not a safe place to be:

Not a great photo but a very rare cat in the US.
This jaguar was photographed by a remote-sensing camera in the borderlands south of Tucson.

mesquite, Thanks for sharing that. I'm stunned (and a little pleased) to see a jaguar in the USA.

You like my Bubo Scandiacus, Francis? I thought you were talking dirty to me. Didn't know I had a bubo scandicus. It turns out I don't. I checked it out. It's a snowy owl.
Thanks for the three great pix. That last one is a doozy.
