'Extinct' is an interesting word in the context of breeds isn't it? The DNA of the turnspit is still out there reproducing itself. Any breed can spawn with any other breed (though there may be stepladders involved).
In fact every domestic dog in the world could disappear and they wouldn't be extinct - because they are the same species as wolves. Weird.
