Anyone watch Beauty and the Geek?

I have a teenage niece who lives with me part time, so I get exposed to a lot of TV I might never have looked at. Actually, this show has made me tear up. I just love it when everyone learns to accept each other and work together. I think that many of the guys will out grow their awkwardness, but some of those girls are truly pathetic- and dumb is forever. I would like to see a reversed version with geeky women and hunky guys for a change.

My husband like the squeaky-voiced girl in the last season. She is one of the girls who made it to the final 2. I think.. I can't remember.

I watch, but agree that I always wonder why I'm watching because it's not THAT good, but at the time... only thing on that we wanted to watch.

Isn't Ashton Kutcher the producer on this show? I wonder how involved he is in it? Doesn't seem like his style (the show tries to be kind of sweet).

I've known lots of guys like those, so it's kinda interesting to me....

I love seeing the makeovers (tonight's episode). Too bad it comes on the same time as AI. I'll be switching back and forth the entire hour. Thankfully AI is usually 50 min. of recaps when it gets down to the top 10.

No VCR? I couldn't watch anything without taping it first - fast forwarding through commericals is a must for me. I'll tape something at 8 and watch it at 9, it also cuts down a show by about 20 minutes by getting rid of the intro and ads. Yeah, I'm a sucker for those makeovers too.

I WISH! I think the big city here has it, but that cable company doesn't do coverage where I live.

You don't need cable, I don't have cable. A VCR is just a box that attaches to the TV to tape shows, DVD technology is replacing it. My VCR is almost 20 years old. Maybe you're thinking of TiVO, that screens out the commericals for you so don't have to fast forward.

Maybe I am thinking of DVR (which is what I THOUGHT I read in your post)? I don't have it, so I don't know... I just know that my friends who live in the city have something that came with their cable that can fast forward through the commercials, and it's not TIVO.

Anyway.... the makeover happened to fast this season. I like seeing them getting their eye plucked, backs waxed, etc...

Where's the drama? I want to see kissing, fights, and just something more interesting. It's kind of slow!!!

Some of them turned out to be good-looking guys! That poor skinny dude still looked like a dorky skinny dude afterwards. I think they're the couple to get booted this week.

I like the big guy. Seems genuine.

I want them to change the rules of this show, instead of voting people off they should just compete for prizes with one big prize at the end. I love seeing the way people change and I'm always sorry to see a couple voted off. I think this show really does change the life of the contestants for the better. The Trekkie guy and his blondie were really sweet and I think the show would be better if they got to stick around. I adore the fact that one of the beauties has a crush on one of the geeks (I'm totally hopeless with names) - maybe it will all end with a love story.
