Stupid, stupid program. I keep struggling with it.

All I want to do is flip a photo -- not rotate, but make a mirror image. This really shouldn't be difficult. Yet I can't find a way to do so.

When I checked online it said to do control + click on the image and "mirror image" would be an option. Nope.

I went to Photobucket, thought it might have the mirror image option. Nope.

Help!

soz,

i have MS Photo Editor here, which has a mirror feature.

if you want, post your pic here, i'll mirror it, and post it back...

I guess you're just not very smart, soz. Deal with it.

Oooh!

Beautiful, thanks so much!!!

If someone who knows the answer to this comes along I'm still interested, as I'm sure I'll want to flip things in the future. (Like Gus...)

:-D

I was thinking more like:

http://www.kidsboston.com/images/flip.gif

Meanwhile, this is why I want to learn how to do it -- I want to adjust the crop just a bit, but it's a larger crop (including some of the original picture that is not in the one I posted before) rather than smaller, so I can't just work with the already flipped one.

If someone wants to flip this, I'd be extremely grateful.

If someone wants to tell me how I can flip things in the future, I'd also be extremely grateful.

Thanks!

I use "Draw", which is part of Open Office, an open-source office suit. Its Mac version can be downloaded for free from the project's website:

You're welcome. To flip an image, open it in "Draw" and choose Modify-->Flip. This should work (TM) whether Gustav is right about your intelligence or not.

@sozobe,
Old thread, but here's your answer:

iPhoto can't do that. But as of the Tiger operating system the OS image "Preview" can. So you can export the photo to your desktop, open it in preview and flip and save. Or you can configure the photo to open in Preview (or any image editor) when you double click it in the iPhoto preferences.

I'm a little fuzzy on the details, because I gave away my Mac last year (hey, I actually need to do useful stuff on my computers) and can't do it myself and give you specifics but you should be able to figure it out from there if you need to do this again.

@Robert Gentel,
That's true - preview will let you flip the picture.
