I'm a big fan of tennis, so I was wondering if you could post who do you think will win Wimbledon?

As everybody knows it starts tomorrow.

In the men's draw Roger Federer will win his first Grand Slam title, since he won Halle in grass, he's in a winning streak in grass he'll surprise everybody. In my opinion he's gonna get back the game he had in the match he beat Pete Sampras 2 years ago in Wimbledon. & since Lleyton Hewitt is not the one from last year, he won't be able to defend his title.

In the women's draw Serena Williams will have no problem defending her title, mainly because there's nobody capable of beating a concentrated Serena in grass. Btw, i don't think her lost in Semifinals of Roland Garros to Justine Henin afects her.

Well, the man's a little uncouth, but he is a home town boy - Lleyton Hewitt for the men's. He'll grow up.....one day....

Serena is in wow form, or was last time I watched one of her matches, I hope she gets it.

One thing's for sure, there will be a new Men's Singles Champion, on Monday Hewitt lost 1-6 7(7)-6(5) 6-3 6-4 to Ivo Karlovic, who is a giant. Odd thing but not so surprising, Hewitt is not the same one of 2002.

Andy Roddick will have a tough test facing Greg Rusedski in what is sure to be a concert of aces, since they both share the fastest serve ever at 239km/h, & in my opinion it is more likely that Kim Clijsters gets her first Grand Slam title on this year's US Open or next year's Aussie Open.

Rusedski's chances of success seem slim to me. He always got some sort of injury and his Wimbledon-career isn't that impressive with a Quarter final in 1997 as best result. And his performance against Alexander Waske wasn't that good either.

Every year about 27,000 kilos of strawberries are eaten during the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, together with 7,000 litres of cream. The popularity of serving strawberries with cream is possibly as old as the event itself.

Its like doritos, nachos, Tortillas or popcorn.
mmm Strawberries mmmm

On Tuesday there where no big surprises, the favorites who played on Tuesday advanced. Agassi however needed 4 sets to beat Delgado,a british player. Ferrero won in straight sets to Jean-Rene Lisnard. Something good for the british people was the victory of their best ranked player, Tim Henman. In women's Justine Henin defeated Julia Vakulenko in straight sets & the number 1 seeded Serena Williams won her match 6-3 6-3 against Jill Craybas. Probably the only upset was the loss of Guillermo Coria to clay courtt specialist Olivier Rochus in straight sets.

As for tomorrow, the matches expected to be the best are Roger Federer vs the lefty Stefan Koubek & the electrifying, clash of Greg Rusedski vs Andy Roddick. In my opinion Andy Roddick & Roger Federer should pass to the next round. In women's Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters & the cute slovakian Daniela Hantuchuva also play their Second Round matches.

Guga lost! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Well, getting more serious I'm gonna say that i'm happy that Roddick, Federer & Srichaphan won thei matches. In women's singles Venus Williams won. But Daniela Hantuchova lost.... Sad Sad

Tomorrow Tim Henman, Andre Agassi & Juan Carlos Ferrero play their 2nd round matches. Ferrero has the hardest match agaisnt Escude, who's style & the serve & volley, ideal at Wimbledon, i see an upset coming for Ferrero. In women's draw Serena Williams, Jennifer Capriati & Justine Henin. They shouldn't have problems advancing to the next round.

Too bad Hantuchova & Guga lost Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Dammit, Agassi lost. Well, I'm still looking forward to seeing if someone can knock Roddick off, and how the war on the women's side turns out.

Phillipousis won with aces, aces and more aces.
So much service strength makes the game not as fun to watch. I prefer women's tennis.
Yet, women get paid less.

Federer & Serena are still on track.

My picks for Semifinals are:

Men's Draw

Jonas Björkman vs 4.- Roger Federer

Tim Henman vs Mark Philippoussis

Women's Draw

1.- Serena Williams vs 3.- Justine Henin

5.- Lindsay Davenport vs 2.- Kim Clijsters

Btw, the women get paid less because they only play 2 out 3 sets, while the men play 3 out of 5 sets. Besides I rather see a concert of aces to Serena destroyin' some little known player. When a guy wins a grand Slam he has to work for it, at least playing 21 sets(unless he won a match or matches by the other playing retiring before the 3 sets where completed), while when a woman wins a Grand Slam she only plays at least 14 sets, often short sets, like the ones of the early rounds, so it's in no way fair that they get paid the same. If they played 3 out of 5 sets I would agree that they get paid the same. As for other tournaments if they play the same amount of sets as the men's then I do believe it's fair that they get the same amount of money.

PS.- There are too many so called-like Kournikova, damn publicity Confused Confused Confused
