not to jinx it... i still have a TON to finalize, submit, file, get signed.... .but the committee -ALL of them have agreed on the date...whew. now i just have to race against the time to meet all deadlines...but if i must, i will!!!

should be interesting. when i was defending the prospectus, my committee ended up telling each other jokes about Poles, Germans, Russians... the like. We'll see what the diss defense will bring...but ultimately I am blessed with a good, friendly committee.

the defense date has been approved by the Dean and I have purchased flight tickets. I still have a ton of work they don't quite know about, but that's between me and, well, me.

25th afternoon it will all be over.

I will be in the U.S. from Feb. 19 to March 1st. Can't bloody wait.

i have a stitch in my side, just from being awake forever i guess...my eyes involuntarily cross every now and then, yet i'm too elated to go to sleep.

the THING is off, submitted for a formatting review. Surely there will be things to do on it, but it's in the paws of the authorities now, and my defense is in two weeks. Nearly 9 years later, tfoooey.

... now somebody just has to stop me in my editing efforts, or i'll edit myself to death. every day is the "last day"... my digestive system is shot to pieces and i look like i'm on a break from the set of the "Dead Alive". But I'm still happy.

Googled myself and saw that the announcement of my defense is posted on official university library - that's like a birth certificate, an official and irrefutable proof that this thing is really happening :-)
