Awright, MB!!! Way to go, dahling!
The first one is just for proving that you can do it!
After that you can worry about times and places...
WOW from 5 miles to more than 13 would be too much of a gamble for me. Before I ran a half marathon I had done 15.5 in training.
Great that you did it though!

15.5 is an impressive trainng run, Bohne.
Have you ever done a full marathon?

No, I was planning on it earlier this year, but then our little munchkin came along.
Right now I am trying to get back into a routine, but I just don't know when to run.
In preparation for the half marathon I ran five to six times a week.
Right now I can't even manage twice!

I know the feeling. I'm lucky in that we have a small exercise room and
some showers here at work. Very often I can get in a run at lunch time.
Good luck!
Here's a video I found online about a guy who works in an office and decided to compete in a triathlon:

It's an interesting video, and if you sign up for the site, you can ask him questions about training. Hope this helps a little.
Hey, I checked that site out. Looks good, I'm anxious to see what I can learn from it. Thanks
Awesome, let me know if you ask any questions, I want to see what his answer is!
I asked a question about purchasing a bike. They recommended a road bike as I suspected. I'm just not sure what to look for in a good bike so that I know the sales person is selling me the right one.
Are you "Cris" on the MyDreams site? I saw the question you asked, and it looks like a few people replied, with pretty much consistent answers. Maybe you can ask what kinds of questions to ask the sales person when you decide to buy?

I'm looking at a Specialized Sequoia elite. I'm test riding it next weekend!
