OK, your partner received a return for $3 to $4000, shouldn't the return have been to the partnership?

Parnerships don't pay tax. The income or loss is a flow through to the partners individual return. Same for S-Corp. Except with S-Corps the active participants get a W-2 before the bottom line is calc.

I'm familiar with S-Corps, but I did not know that about partnerships.

Conversely, a lot of "educated" people are penniless.

It is usually where the main company is. That is what is listed. The IRS is up on that stuff. They are going to start cracking down again. They already have. They plan to really step it up.

our 1099 from one company here is located in TX with their EIN.
Nothing gets through if the EIN and ST don't match IRS for electronic filing.
It will reject. If you do the return yourself and send it in it gets through but if there is a problem you might not know for about 2 years. Employers do not send W-2's to IRS, they go to SS dept. Then SS transmits it electronically to IRS. Most people do not know this. They think employers send W-2's to IRS.

know them all the way to international taxes and non-resident aliens with US income where you have to look up the treaty the US has with the country involved. Do it wrong and you can really screw up somones visa or status where they can't get back into the US.

Because I have many talents and none are recognized or acknowledged.
(I have a couple degrees) People just look at the outside. They forget about the mind and heart. That is more important.

You are right, but this applies to both men and women. Hopefully as one matures he or she can see past the physical attributes into the heart, soul and yes, the mind also. I don't mind saying that it took me too long to really appreciate my wife for the person that she is, and at times I was a real ass (or worse).
We joke around alot on this thread but we really only know the people here by what they write, and I think that we all know you by your thoughts and not by the picture that shows up next to your post.

well time to get off my soapbox and head for home, I'll see you folks tomorrow. stay safe and have a good evening.

This is your ol' uncle Larry signing off.

Sigh, I think everyone's gone...
I read today's posts to catch up...

I gotta say, I've never understood tth bashing her husband so mercilessly. It makes me uncomfortable. How can you be married to someone so long and be as unhappy as you seem here when you talk about him.

I don't get it.

And then today, you all jumped on the bash-tth's-husband bandwagon.

I really don't get it.

I've found no one can really know what goes on between two people in a relationship. I don't know tth's relationship, except that on here, she likes to do the poor-me,-I'm-with-an-idiot routine.
I believe that if you are unhappy, do something about it. I have no patience listening to someone bash their "loved" one publicly, yet not seem to want do anything to change it.

I don't see the humor in helping tth bash her husband.
Sorry, if I offend anyone, I just needed to get that off my chest...
Just my ever so humble opinion.
