A friend of mine was over yesterday and I was showing him some things on the computer (he has a pc). I was logged in to my email and had to leave the room. When I got back Mr. Smartass had deleted or erased everything from my account. I don't suppose there is a way of me getting anything back huh? I have no idea what other little games he played. My luck he probably signed me up for all sorts of things.

That will also teach me to leave my email account open and leave the room when someone is here. He thinks it is funny and maybe it would be if he would tell me what he did.

Are you talking data files, or programs, or both? I don't know if MAC has the same feature as Windows XP (System Restore) ... it recreates programs and files on your harddrive as they were on a previous date. I used it a few times and it re-installs all the program files, but you lose all the data files created since your "restore date". Was this person's intentions malicious? Mad

I am talking only email from what I can tell. Other programs on my computer are password protected. I know he was mad at me when he came over, but I thought that was over and done with. So, I really do not know if it was to be mean or he really thought it was funny. I had some important information in my saved file that is now gone.

Well, it appears he just "deleted" files. Did you check in the deleted files folder? Or did he clear that, too? If he did, you're toast unless you know someone in computer forensics. Confused

When I say important I mean personally. Anything that is of major importance I have somewhere else (another account or on paper).
The things that are gone I just wanted to keep. I am probably out of luck.

Deleted files folder I think are for PCs for Macs it is empty trash and yes he did do that.
