I always get those emails that say my home mortgage has already been approved, but I still have to send my account information. I know they are fake, but I can't make them go away.
BUT, today, I got a real one from EBay, saying that there was an irregularity with my account, and that I could not use PayPal because there was an irregularity with my account numbers.
I don't have an EBay account, and I don't have a PayPal account. That one really made me nervous, because I have never used EBay at all! I checked the certificate and the site and it sure did seem to be from the real EBay, and the email took me to what appeared to be the real Ebay.
That makes me nervous.
Jeez,
All kidding aside, there is a false email going out that appears to be from Ebay. It is not. I already turned them in a few days ago. Ebay and Paypal are taking the appropriate steps to make their site more secure. If you get an email from someone and it has an attachment, I would strongly recommend not opening up the attachment. If in doubt you contact Ebay or Paypal. As far as the unwanted email, block it permanently or turn them in to the authorities like the FTC.
As far as a trap. I do not do that. I truly am sincere in that I do not like to hurt others.
