#44 Billy Bob's Texas: This building was originally an open-air barn that housed cattle. Cattle wore down the floor and in the 1950's, it became a department store, and the stock boys that worked there wore roller skates (put a new one in and scuffed it some more). I'm sure the floor was replaced at least once! Very Happy

It isn't on an "avenue," but you drive on down the avenue to get to it.
As far as "sounds a lot like the word casino," there is an area that they call the "casino" located in the place, however it's really just an arcade, you can't go there to gamble or bet.

So, that's why I picked Billy Bob's as my best answer. Smile
Billy Bobs bought it 25 years ago and they have never replaced the dance floor since they have had it.... Cassies has changed there's twice and the flaunt part comes in because it used to be a Bordello...

Yes, but the clue says "For so many years, they wore down the floor. Put a new one in and scuffed it some more." I take that to mean that the floor could have been worn down by cattle (it doesn't say what kind of floor - could have been a dirt floor). By putting a new floor in, the roller skates could have "scuffed it some more."

At this point, it's a crap shoot on at least two of the answers to clues, because there isn't just one correct answer. Confused

#67 is what has my goat. Eisenhower Memorial Tunnel was changed to Bore which is the west bound bore... East bound bore is called Edwin C. Johnson.... The clue does not say east or west bound, so im a little confused.. Shine some light on this someone... Go read it first though..

I believe you are correct, my friend. They are two separate tunnels. Eisenhower Memorial Tunnel was changed to Eisenhower Memorial Bore in 1972. Doesn't matter what direction it goes. The clue says named for the 34th honcho. Eisenhower was the 34th President of the US.

Just my 2 Cents

Those sound pretty good to me, but the part of clue #44 that stood out to me was at the very end. "Name this here bar and restaurant" Now I didn't answer all of my clues in order and I remembered that I had to tell where "here" was on another clue. Here was Las Vegas, New Mexico which seemed to me to fit perfectly with the part about not being able to gamble and bet since the most famous place you can do that is in another Las Vegas. You swing me....drive on down the avenue...the place I found in Las Vegas, NM you have to drive past a golf course to get to. Oh, and do you all know what the spanish word for kitchen is? Well, It sure sounds a lot like the word "casino" I called this particular restaurant and they ahve replaced the floor.

I see where you're coming from though. Edwin C Johnson was also the 34th Governor of Colorado. See what I mean about it being a crap shoot??? Confused

Ok how about the Flaunt part? Where does that fit? Let me remind you that i called Cassies and all i asked was if they replaced the floor... She volunteered the rest ,saying that they were the answer in the clue book. I never even mentioned the clues... And yes im sure i was not the first one to call... My Dear!!!

I KNOW that you've gotten dressed up in your Saturday Night Best and gone to the bar, huh??? You KNOW you look good, and you KNOW everyone is looking at you, right??? Laughing

That, my friend, is "flaunting" and can be done anywhere!

Flaunt was the only thing that didn't seem to jump out at me for my answer to #44. I wonder if every place that is a correct answer necessarily knows that they are. Do you suppose they had to ask for permission to publish a question like that about a certain place?

They don't need permission since they aren't publishing a specific place. Only DL Blair and Phillip Morris know the answers, and they said they'll never tell, so....... we just had to answer the best we could and hope that we put down the answer that they are looking for. Confused

Cocina is spanish for kitchen. It sounds a lot to me like the word casino. Cocina is in the name of the place I chose. That's all I meant by my earlier post. I'm sorry if I'm annoying, I was just trying to discuss this with people here because it seems to me that you all actually put some thought into the answers. Smile
