Hi Veterans and Newbie
I,m back again with puzzle number 2,Well, at least it is a puzzle for me.
I bought a goauche painting 18 or so years ago at an estate sale by two brothers.A nice painting with an signature I didn`t recognize, but I did not care , I liked it.Well I,m retired now with lots of time. I thought I would research it.
The painting is 13 tall by 7 1/2 wide ,painted on thin cardboard. It was painted before 1915 ,I can tell this by the out of business art shop sticker on back of painting,The last name of the signature start with a R,then an open o or u then a d ,then he stopped and finished with an i and fancy ending,To me it looks like Rodin, but I maybe streching this a lot,The first name is not an A ,but it looks like E, Rodin used this signature once.I have Jpeg of this below.
Rodin did paint many paintings in the style of Rivier,But I have only seen 4, pointed out to me by Walter H. A "Great Googler"or lot better than me.
What I need to know ,who does it look like painted this painting, by someone else, better than me. This is the best forum I can find for help,
I put on Jpegs to help, maybe they will work this time.
Thanks ,
Newbie Rich
