That's what my stomach is today. I am not hungry, but all day long I've been wanting to eat. Maybe the weather? Or the research paper I should be writing?
What can I make with 6 kinds of beans (various types), 3 apples, a 1/4 stick of butter, canned tomatoes, and chili flour tortillas?
Or baked apples stuffed with beans and wrapped in tortilla.
On second thought, I guess that's an apple burrito too...
Tortilla soup...
The apple for dessert..
I'd take the beans and tomatoes and cook them together to make something to put inside most of the tortillas.
I'd take one of the tortillas, brush on a little olive oil, cut it into strips and bake it til it's crispy - and serve it on top of the apples (in a small bowl) that I would have sauteed with butter, sugar, cinnamon, and a tiny bit of a hot sauce or chipotle.
Changing my vote to ehBeth's...
though apple burrito gives me ideas..
Just eat the **** as is.
What the hell would be wrong with that?
Er, think cooking as distraction when in a period of research paper avoidance, sort of a therapeutic endeavor, unless of course the result tastes terrible, and then the situation is worse than ever.
Yeah...write the paper.
I used to eat my fingernails during this endeavour.
This sort of reminds me of my Beets and Self Reliance thread. Oh, no, it was titled something about cooking and the 93 year old...
Too bad I don't have a link.
But I'm off to look up tortilla soup recipes..
I took a nap with the cat instead......
Osso - I think any tortilla soup would need fresh cilantro and lime, which I don't have (perhaps I'll pick some up tomorrow). But, that does look good. And I have those chiles in powdered form.
Beth - I do like the idea of spicy apple dessert type things. I've spiced apple pies before with red chile.
Dadpad - I knew that was coming (NOT a pun), but I didn't expect it'd be you!

I just figured I would do you a favour and get the obviouse out of the way early.
Too bad dingbat (HM#3's new nick name) used all the butter last weekend to make his digeridoo dinner. I was itching to make an apple pie or strudle. It's too wet and stormy to go out again.
I am shocked that dadpad would say such a thing.
Me too!!
Usually he's (dadpad) the a2k police
