You want honesty?

I wanted to see people's reactions, in particular, I wanted to see whether people were impressed.

Besides if I had waited a few more years it wouldn't have been as dramatic.

I know it's a bit immature, especially when I'm claiming to be adult, but I am proud of my intelligence, and I don't see why I should not be.

Then again I try to keep it in perspective - the famous poem by Alexander Pope comes to mind.

Quote:
A little learning is a dangerous thing;
drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring:
there shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
and drinking largely sobers us again.

Unfortunately I couldn't find the full version, but you get the idea.

I suppose this is as good a thread as any to reveal my true age.

I, too, am thirteen.

Here it is:

Quote:
A little Learning is a dang'rous Thing;
Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian Spring:
There shallow Draughts intoxicate the Brain,
And drinking largely sobers us again.
Fir'd at first Sight with what the Muse imparts,
In fearless Youth we tempt the Heights of Arts, [220]
While from the bounded Level of our Mind,
Short Views we take, nor see the lengths behind,
But more advanc'd, behold with strange Surprize
New, distant Scenes of endless Science rise!
So pleas'd at first, the towring Alps we try,
Mount o'er the Vales, and seem to tread the Sky;
Th' Eternal Snows appear already past,
And the first Clouds and Mountains seem the last:
But those attain'd, we tremble to survey
The growing Labours of the lengthen'd Way, [230]
Th' increasing Prospect tires our wandering Eyes,
Hills peep o'er Hills, and Alps on Alps arise!

Frankly, most A2K posters are focused on themselves rather than on other posters. This is the way the world wags--and the way the world should wag.

If I told you that I was thirteen years of age would you care?

Would it affect how you'd view me? Think of me? Treat me?

If I told you that I was a very rich businessmen owning several reknown countries, would you care?

If I told you that I dropped out of school at the age of fifteen would you care?
Of coarse I would care if you were thirteen. I would think,view and treat you as a thirteen year old.

If you were a rich businessman I would try to use my acquaintance to you to the best honorable advantage to myself (while maitaining an honest freindship).

Amigo,
Due to your obvious lack of education I would find it more fitting more me to treat you as a thirteen year old.

This is the problem - some people may be older, but less educated, intelligent or mature than me.

"COARSE"?

Don't you mean "COURSE"??

I'm God knows how much younger than you, but at least I can do the basic task of spelling words correctly.

Psst, Amigo. Perhaps you will have to fight fire with fire. Sometimes it's the only thing the tadpoles respect.
