"Starting Over" on NBC ran for about three years before coming to an end in 2006. This reality show ran during daytime hours and featured six women who lived in the Starting Over House while working on major life problems. As soon as one woman would be deemed worthy of "graduation", another would move into the house to replace her. In fall, 2006, there was a marriage or relationship boot camp, when three couples (three women and three men) went through a similar process.
Two Life Coaches and a psychologist gave them exercises and guidance. Did you watch this series? What did you think?
I caught it once or twice and I thought it had some good things to say.
Starting Over House
Thanks for posting, plainoldme; I'm glad to know I was not the only person who ever saw "Starting Over". I became addicted to it and lament its absence from the small screen.
I agree - there were good ideas and concepts, along with the entertaining aspect. It was enjoyable while it lasted.
There are many ways in which television can be used to educate people and programs like The Starting Over House are one of them. Sometimes, people have to be nudged a bit. You know, there are people who work and work on lost causes in their personal lives and they need to learn when to quit. Sometimes, the only way to realize that is to be diagnosed with a psychosomatic illness or to have a mirror held up in front of you. Programs of this sort are mirrors.
