On law and order last night someone said (of a particular diner) best cheese fries in town.
What are cheese fries?
Yuk! I have never had them, but they look awful, Kev:
mmmmm I think they look delicious. Give me cheese fries NOW!
x
I had them once--at a diner with indifferent food. They seemed to be French Fries with something like Velveeta or Cheese Whiz slathered on top.
Letty when I go to that link I get an article about different kinds of burgers???
What link, Kev. That was a picture of cheese fries.
Got em Letty they look yukky, americans eat some funny stuff, I saw a kid on a tv show the other day eating a sammie with peanut butter AND jam
UhOh, kev. I love peanut butter sammies.
I only use the natural peanut butter, however.

Two cheese fries recipes
Bacon Cheese Fries
16 oz. (1/2 of 32-oz. pkg.) frozen french fried potatoes
8 slices OSCAR MAYER Ready to Serve Bacon, cut into small pieces
1 cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 cup green onion slices
COOK french fries as directed on package; place on ovenproof dish or platter.
PREHEAT broiler. Sprinkle fries with bacon, cheese and onions.
BROIL, 4 to 6 inches from heat, 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Cheese Fries
1 sack frozen French fries, any brand or shape - crinkle cut, thin cut, steak cut, waffle fries - prepared to package directions
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole milk
2 1/2 cups, (10-ounce) sack shredded yellow Cheddar
3 squirts ketchup, about 1/4 cup
Place the fries in oven on a cookie sheet and bake according to package directions.
While fries are baking in the oven, place a sauce pot on the stove and heat it over medium heat. Add the butter and melt it.
Add the flour and stir. Cook butter and flour together for 1 minute or so to make a roux. Use a whisk to stir as the milk goes into the pot. Keep stirring until the milk gets thicker.
Use a wooden spoon or heat-safe spatula to stir in the cheese. When all of the cheese melts, take the sauce off the heat and stir in 3 squirts of ketchup.
Pour the sauce over the fries or serve the sauce on the side if you like dipping better.
They are, unfortunately, pretty yummy. Sometimes one can find chili-cheese fries.
Thanks BBB, I think the sauce as a dip might be o.k. I might give that a try.
We're just warming you 'Murricans up for the poutine invasion.
(That's french fries with cheese curds and gravy! Can you just hear your arteries hardening.)
If you're British, you don't have to worry about poutine just yet (
later maybe, when we Canucks seek world domination), but you might look askance on the mayonnaise-like stuff that the Dutch put on their fries.

Chili cheese fries, mmmmmm
For maybe just a few less calories, how about the chili and cheese over a baked potato?
and what is this, Kev? I thought pudding was for dessert.
Sorry Letty I thought this post was dead, that beef looks good enough to kill for, the yorkshire puddings (if thats what they are) dont look up to much
Hey, kev. I couldn't find the kind that I used to make. I may have to try my recipe again at Thanksgiving.
