are there any patchworkers, around?
I am fairly new to this hobby (about 17 months) and would like to get some ideas and tips from you...
You might be interested to have a look at
International Museum for Textile Folk Art ... in my home town
(We visited with some A2K-friends earlier this year: some hundred patchwork subjects from all over the world and as early as 17th century)
Hey, great....
I am from around Stuttgart, but I'll check out where exactly this is.
Sometimes we are up near Kassel to go diving in Edersee...
Maybe I can combine that with a visit there one day!

40 mins from Kassel - Edersee a bit more (on the A44)
That should be possible, I guess...
Are there really NO patchworkers here at all?
Hard to believe, I thought it was THE American craft!
Hi
Im into sewing but cant say Ive ever done patchwork.
Ive ehard they are worth a fortune due to the work put in them but arnt sold for anywhere near that amount.
I am making one for a friend for christmas at the moment.
Only machine sewing, but even so, I am estimating that I will spend about $200 in materials and 50 hours of work.
Even with an hourly rate of just $5 that would be way more than I would want to spend on a quilt.
Just imagine that the real ones are handmade....
(Or at least hand-quilted)
There are a couple of blogs re patchwork/quilting online and additionally some sites send newsletters.
