Does anyone recall the ranking on home air purifiers that was published, earlier this year by Consumer Reports?

CR Oct 05

The 5 Highest Rated

1 Friedrich C-90A $500
2 Kenmore 83202 $350
3 Whirlpool AP45030R $250
4 Honeywell 50205 $180
5 Vornado AQS35 $200

Not Recommended:

Oreck XL Professional $370
Sharper Image Professional Serios Ionic Breeze $450
Ionic Pro CL369 150
Surround Air XJ-2000 $80.00

Roger's Tip - Don't buy one till you are satisfied with the price and availablility of filters. Some filters approach 80% of the cost of the purifier.

My last one was an Oreck. My next one will definitely NOT be an
Oreck.

Are there any good air purifiers that don't need filters?

Kenmore looks like a reasonable choice.
