WHO POSTED THIS?

I had almost begun to think it was attributable to my being middle aged and paranoid - my sense of dread at the intentions and actions of the administration residing in Washington now. Joan didion's article has reaffirmed to me in no uncertain terms that we have much to fear - not just from the physical threat that may come as a result of the unprecedented preemptive attack bush is contemplating, but from the numbness of reason and spirit that urges us all not to think.

Not to think about why America is so hated.

Not to think about what happens after "preemption", or the 2004 election.

Not intending to sound melodramatic, I can honestly say that I truly fear for us as a nation today. I worry that we have not already capitualted the captaincy of our fates to greedy, careless, stupid men.

Poetry is, to me (no expert by far) impressionistic,
you describe a word in shades and hues with strokes
that do not color, only hint. Throw in perspective by
stronger or more subtle strokes ..... dew drenched
apples ..... mist covered yellow apples ....
juicy red deliscious fruit
soon to drop from mother's bough
lying on the orchard floor
waiting to become a tree
and thus become
infinity

I have never wanted to be anything or anybody,
honestly that is the truth. I have always had
an unquenchable appetite for knowledge ....
mental stimulation. I have regarded my
existence in this life as temporary, the way a
flower would think of a pot ... if it could
think.

I, too, am weary from going place to place - including on line - for EVERYTHING. Of course prescription drugs have one of the largest price variances ... aside from new cars and large appliances. Equal quality clothing? Gosh, I don't know. Maybe it's with EVERYTHING.

Back to the drugs. You just have to shop and shop ... until you drop. NOT buying, but looking for the best price. A member of our family was paying $132 for a prescription for months and months that he now buys on line for $56!!! And, no, not the generic either. Same brand. I think it's called "whatever the traffic will bear." There are no price controls in effect; hence the difference. That's true on all merchandise I believe. Or, there are price controls on ... what?

We don't have a chance, but the ball is in our corner ... if we have the time and energy to persevere. GOOD WISHES!

Interested in people, cultures, anything Spanish (especially Mexico), books, computers, travel, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Like to cook AND eat - collect recipes, among other things...
