Rainsoft Water System

We have an Apollo Rainsoft water treatment system. We moved and brought the system with us. The unit worked fine then the Trigaurd was leaking so we replaced it. The softner was working wonderful at that time. Then we put the bypass valve in and it seems that the system is not working as well. On regeneration everything seems fine. You can feel the water moving in and out of the brine tank and draining out, but the water just does not seem soft like it use to. Any advice. We would be greatful.
