We had snow on the Sandia's today and the weather folks just put out a hard freeze warning for the Albuquerque metro tonight.

There goes what is left of our drought-surviving fruit trees and any crops that have been planted.

They're also warning us that El Nino is back and it is 50/50 whether we will get a normally wet Autumn and Winter or a torrentially wet one.

Maybe there will be some drought relief in our future.

@Region Philbis,
Unbelievable in the UK at the moment.

Dry, warm and sunny and has been for weeks.

Forecast to reach 26c in the south later this week.

We shall be growing olives next.

I've given up on weather, it's at the heart of so much hypocrisy. Everyone talks about the weather, but no one ever does anything about it.

Well, we've had your bloody usual summer weather - not too cold, but rain for weeks on end. A couple of fine days, then...rain again Evil or Very Mad Wish you'd take it back!

@margo,
Ha! The future Dr Plankton goes over there to do all manner of microbe related things in the Oz sunshine, and the one thing he didn't think to take was an umbrella!
You wait 'til he's next on Skype.....I'll make sure I show him my tan. Very Happy

US National Weather Service Albuquerque New Mexico

The latest seasonal drought outlook posted October 16th continues to reflect a favorable pattern for New Mexico and much of the Southwest U.S.

Not so good for the Pacific Coast. Midwest farms better start planting something besides soybeans wheat and corn.

NOAA: Another warm winter likely for western U.S., South may see colder weather
Repeat of last year’s extremely cold, snowy winter east of Rockies unlikely.
