@jespah,
Safe travels, jes. Expected rain totals now show upwards of 9" of rain in some areas.

@JPB,
We've been getting rain from the far outliers of Kyle since very early this morning. Given how far away we are from the actual storm, I don't think I'd want to be much closer.

Sydney Orstraylia:

Meterological conditions: Damn hot!

Nudged over 30 C (86 Fahrenheities) and on the way UP!
Humidity was down so not too sweaty (you'll be relieved), but the UV index was thru the roof - no cloud at all!

Worst of it is that its gonna be around 33 C by Monday!!

How are we all going to cope??

No deal honey. This is my favourite time of year on A2K.

For every "there's 6 feet of snow outside and we've just had to eat the huskies" I'm gonna post '42 C today AND THAT'S JUST IN THE SHADE!'. And throw in a pic or clip of happy Aussies frolicking at the beach.... happy, happy days....

@Mr Stillwater,
See, we just forget to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius and figure we're talking about the same thing. I say it's 42 (brr) and you say it's 42 (sweat). It's all good.

@jespah,
A nice crisp autumn day. Highs of 9 Celsius forecast. With a tiny bit more sunshine, this'd be a perfect day.

@ehBeth,
eastern lake ontario :
after a lot of rain the sun came out this morning !!!
about 10 C - great fall day !
mrs h and i ventured out onto the driveway and into the garden to exercise her "new hip" - she is really doing extremely well less than 3 weeks after a major operation ( "had to use extra cement and took an extra half-hour" , the surgeon told me after the operation) .
she can't wait to get back to the pool but will have to wait to see surgeon first on dec. 1 .
things getting back to normal .

Cranking up to the mid-30s. Officially 31, but its a lot hotter - one site has 34 C, that sounds right.

This will help somewhat:
70 F = 21 c
75 = 24
80 = 26.5
85 = 29.5
95 = 35
104 = 40
115 = 46

On New Year's Day 2006 (I was there!!) it was 42.6 c (111.5 F). And that was on the coast - inland 47 C (116.6 F).

I recall that New Years Day - I was at the beach apartment at Kiama - and it was stifling; absolutely roasting, no cloud, no breeze - and this is right at the water. Too hot to go outside. I'm fair skinned and would burn to a crisp with that sun! We actually went for a drive - because the car has aircon, while the apartment hasn't!

Bloody hot and hazy yesterday at the air show. Despite blockout, long sleeves and hat, parts of me are very red today - or is that embarrassment?
