So much for our mini cool down today. It's 97 degrees at Palwaukee Airport (closest official reading to my location. They're still saying a high of 80 for tomorrow. Ahhhhhhhhhh!

J_B, sounds like we'll be a day behind you.

Region, my sister has 2 window units, one upstairs and one downstairs - no competition for today's heat. It was 86F (humidity 46%) in the house this evening when I left. 4 dogs, 2 cats, 3 kids and one cranky woman probably didn't help the inside heat index.

areas south of Bahstin got walloped last night.
i think they said brockton & stoughton got it the worst.

high winds knocked down trees, utility poles and power lines...

I was in NY for the past few days. And it was brutal. It was 92 degrees yesterday. That may not sound like much, but that was 10 PM. I knew it was record-breaking heat when my Dad didn't complain about me lowering the thermostat on the central air.

It was interesting to see the climate in our town was the same as London today, and most places in-between were roasting.

Been an exciting evening. Sirens + tornado warning -- spent some time in the basement. Now I'm waiting out a tornado watch that expires at 1 AM.

Heh... thanks for asking.

I've been sick for about a month -- cold + some other nasties, then bronchitis, now "temporary asthma." I have medicine that is helping a lot for the last one, but for some reason yesterday was an absolutely awful day, coughing all damn day, really exhausting.

Woke up feeling better, hope today will be an improvement.

All that rain was great for my poor thirsty garden anyway.

went to see our family physician last week - he just likes to see us about once a month Very Happy .
mrs h told him that she had headaches , felt tired , not sleeping well ...
"ah" , he said ; "something is 'going around again' ; we don't know yet what it is . probably a low level virus , best to get some rest . "
mrs h is beginning to perk up again ; so it is probably a low level virus - not much can be done about it , except to get some rest - and some chickensoup !

Oh man would my grandmother's chicken soup with matzo balls ever hit the spot just now...

E.G. has been out of town (back shortly) which has been part of my angst, hate being sick while having to keep up with an active kid and wiith no back-up and a bunch of tornado stuff to deal with on top of everything else. (That's why I stayed up, if there were more sirens I had no way of knowing so I kept an eye on Wunderground. I found out about the first round of sirens/ tornado warning just because a neighbor came over to make sure, sozlet didn't think it was worth mentioning... ah well. She and I had a little talk about that.)
