Does the new Deleting Online Predators Act (DOPA) block A2K as well?
I could imagine such, since similar websites - "chat-based reference service" - are blocked by that law.
Cites, links -- what have you got? I'd like to see the info. If it's just blocking chat sites then they are talking, I suspect, about MIRC and not a forums site like A2K.
That has even been in our tv news.
From a press release:

Jul 26, 2006: This bill passed in the House of Representatives by roll call vote. The vote was held under a suspension of the rules to cut debate short and pass the bill, needing a two-thirds majority. The totals were: 410 Ayes, 15 Nays, 7 Present/Not Voting.
I often use A2k for soliciting minors for sexual favors, this is an afront to my freedon of speech. Will my posts to Possum be deleted?
A very fast cursory reading (I have no time to get in depth right now) shows that this refers to chat rooms and sites like MySpace.
ah, so this just concerns libraries, yes? they won't go and delete my myspace and wiki pages, right? cause i would be one angry dasha!
The bill doesn't ban or eliminate any sites at all. If enacted it would require those places that get $$ from the universial servce fund (mostly schools and libraries) to filter internet access provided to minors to block porn and also requires that they not allow access to "social networking" sites unless the minior's parents consent to the access.
