I WANNA RE-DO MY ROOM

Reply Thu 20 Jul, 2006 09:02 am
hey, I'm 13 and i have had the same room since i was 6. i shared (use to) it with my older sister (who loves pink) so she got her way and the room got to be purple with pink polka dots (now i have and still hate pink) so i really wanna re-do my room in greens and blues. ooh yeah now my older sister is in a different room but i share it with my younger sister who guess what. loves pink. so i have to persuade her as well as my parents.

but if i donate 200$ and have it all planned out they will be positive.

do you have any ideas or any sites with pictures of rooms?

thank you.

Hi brennahx 3,

It might work if you painted the walls green, and then your sister could accessorize her area(s) with pink, and you could use blues.

How does a 13 yr old get $200!!!!??

Anyhoo, You could try a blue and purple combo. The colours go quite nicely together if you get the right combo.
The main wall your sister is on could be pinky/purple, your could be blue then everything else/accesories could either be shades of blue and pinky/purple.ie blue curtains with pinky/purple tiebacks.

If you're good with drawing, you can sketch your room. Then photocopy it many times, and start colouring until you get something that looks pleasing.

Sozobe's idea is very good. You could also do the room in blues, with green accents (bedspread, blankets, cushions, lamps, picture frames, etc.) and pink for your sister.

If you aren't good with drawing, you can take a digital photograph of your room, and print it in black & white. Then do the colour thing on that. But there may be too much grey, so you may need to trace over the B&W photo to get a line drawing that you can use.

Or you can go here (select the 'paint now' button) and select a room that most looks like yours, and play with the real paint colours. The problem is that there is no way to save the photo when you do get something you like ~ although you can print it if you have a colour printer.

Have fun!

wow, that's really great cj....very fresh.

I was thinking the same thing, how those 3 colors (green, pink and blue) can be incorporated in such a way to make everyone happy.

Normally, I'm not a fan of patterns, but in this case, in order not to make each individually color stand out....it's the way to go.

Yes, I think that would look lovely together - pink and light blue...

Now, with all these ideas,
I am thinking of changing my daughter's room...

Actually, we have that already in the master bedroom, chai Wink

This is my daughter's room (when it's halfway cleaned up) and
as she is a pre-teen now, she wants a more "grown-up" room,
sans the mirrors Laughing

Frankly, I'd be already happy if my tub had the drain in the middle.
