I'll Have to Say I love you in a Song

Tomorrow is the day that U.S. citizens observe those they love, living and dead, who have fought in wars. I would like to take this opportunity to do a different type of dedication. To celebrate the life of those here on A2K, I dedicate this song by Jim Croce:

I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song
Well, I know it's kind of late
I hope I didn't wake you
But what I got to say can't wait
I know you'd understand
'Cause every time I tried to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song

Yeah, I know it's kind of strange
But every time I'm near you
I just run out of things to say
I know you'd understand
'Cause every time I tried to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song

'Cause Every time the time was right
All the words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song

Yeah, I know it's kind of late
I hope I didn't wake you
But there's something that I just got to say
I know you'd understand
'Cause every time I tried to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song

Soooooooooooooooo. Use this opportunity to dedicate a song to those here that truly fits what you know of each:

I'll begin with Bi-Polar: "Midnight at the Oasis" Smile

Well, edgar. Come on and dedicate a song to someone here on A2K. To you it might be:

AFTER THE LOVING

So I sing you to sleep After The Loving
With a song that I wrote yesterday
And I hope that it's clear what the words
And the music have to say.

It's so hard to explain all the things that I'm feeling
Face to face I just seem to go dry
But I love you so much that the sound
Of your voice can make me high.

Thanks for taking me
On a one way trip to the sun
Thanks for turning me into a someone.

So I sing you to sleep After The Loving
And I brush back the hair from your eyes
And the love on your face is so real,
It makes me want to cry.

And I know that my song isn't saying anything new.
Oh but After The Loving, I'm still in love with you

I STILL MISS SOMEONE written by Johnny Cash/Roy Cash Jr.

At my door the leaves are falling
The cold wind will come
Sweethearts will walk by together
And I still miss someone

I go out to all the parties
And look for a little fun
But I find the darkened corner
Because I still miss someone

Oh I never got over those blue eyes
I see them everywhere
I miss those arms that held me
When all the love was there
I wonder if she's sorry
For leaving what we'd begun
There's someone for me somewhere
And I still miss someone

for my mother and older brother

Hey, Bob. And to whom on A2K would you dedicate your song?(Englebert was not too bad on that one) or perhaps you had another in mind.

edgar, The Man in Black still has a certain quality, does he not? How dear of you to remember your mother and brother with a song.

Salute

Now the plummer's got a drip in his spigot
The mechanic's got a clank in his car
And the preacher's thinking thoughts that are wicked
And the lover's got a lonely heart
My friends ain't the way I wish they were
They are just the way they are

And I will be my brother's keeper
Not the one who judges him
I won't despise him for his weakness
I won't regard him for his strength
I won't take away his freedom
I will help him learn to stand
And I will ~ I will be my brother's keeper

Now this roof has got a few missing shingles
But at least we got ourselves a roof
And they say that she's a fallen angel
I wonder if she recalls when she last flew
There's no point in pointing fingers
Unless you're pointing to the truth

And I will be my brother's keeper
Not the one who judges him
I won't despise him for his weakness
I won't regard him for his strength
I won't take away his freedom
I will help him learn to stand
And I will ~ I will be my brother's keeper

I will be my brother's keeper
Not the one who judges him
I won't despise him for his weakness
I won't regard him for his strength
I won't take away his freedom
I will help him learn to stand
And I will ~ I will be my brother's keeper"

Very Happy Fantastic, Bob. Hey, did you know that Nameless is not the name of the game? As a matter of record, Jim Croce also wrote a great song called "I've Got a Name". Guess we'll have to dedicate that to Deb. Embarrassed

To Joe Nation --

Randy Newman - "You've Got a Friend in Me"

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles
From your nice warm bed
You just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me
Yeah, you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
If you've got troubles, I've got 'em too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you
We stick together and can see it through
Cause you've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

Boy, and as the years go by
Our friendship will never die
You're gonna see it's our destiny
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me....

And I'll try, yeah I'll try
To touch the world like You touched my life
And I'll find my way
To be your hands
I'll abandon every selfish thought
I'll surrender every thing I've got
You can have everything I am
And perfect everything I'm not
I'm willing, I'm not afraid
You give me strength
When I say
I want to be your hands
I want to be your feet
I'll go where you send me
I'll go where you send me

Aww....I have to dedicate this one to Gen:

The Last Unicorn
America

When the last eagle flies
Over the last crumbling mountain
And the last lion roars
At the last dusty fountain
In the shadow of the forest
Though she may be old and worn
They will stare unbelieving
At the Last Unicorn.

When the first breath of winter
Through the flowers is icing
And you look to the north
And a pale moon is rising
And it seems that all is dying
And would leave the world to mourn
In the distance hear the laughter
Of the Last Unicorn.

I'm alive! I'm alive!

When the last moon is cast
Over the last star of morning
And the future has passed
Without even a last desperate warning
And you look into the sky where through
The clouds a path is torn
Look and see her, how she sparkles
It's the Last Unicorn.

I'm alive! I'm alive!

Cool thread! I will keep thinking...
