There's a virus somewhere here on A2K

I picked up some nasty virus while I was online here about 30 minutes ago, around 11pm on Sunday 7/16. My Norton virus couldn't even quarantine or delete it... thank heavens for Norton Go Back, or I might have had a mess of a time going back from scratch, debugging &
reformatting and all that jazz. I don't know what kind it is - but it said
it was a virus, not a worm. So - for those of you who know how to deal
with this kind of stuff - hope you can find where it is. I was just kind of
bouncing back and forth from Word Associations and Acronyms and
a few other places when it happened. I don't want to see it to happen
to some other unsuspecting member - so those of you who are in the
know about how to deal with this, you need a fumigator in here.

That's not how it works - if there is a problem, its at your end, not here on A2K. See THIS, THIS, and THIS.

It is possible some other site you've visited, some link or popup you've clicked, whether during the session in question or not, is responsible for the symptoms you describe, and something which occurred while you were browsing A2K triggered the event you report, but other than perhaps clicking a link in a post here which redirects to a malicious site, there's no way you're going to be "infected" by anything on A2K.

Thank God for that, I was just about to shut down my computer and place "quarantine" signs all around it.

Have you seen the commercials of a PC man and a MAC man?
Well, millions of PC's caught the virus, but MAC doesn't know what the
heck he's talking about.

Cute commercial! Needless to say, I am a MAC Smile
