Well, I don't think I have been to any town or city in Canada that doesn't have a Chinese community, so I suspect that adjusting to climate is no problem!

No jecq i am an old man (not very old) but still old. My daughter however is just returned (6 monts ago) from a 12 month exchange in Sweden. She left Australia knowing 3 words of swedish aged 16. she returned to us a much more mature young woman with an expanded world view, and is now fluent in swedish. She continues to study this language and will return to sweden next year to travel and see good friends she has made. My daughter was sponsored by Rotary, an international service club.

Does Rotary exist in China?

In addition My wife and I have hosted a Swedish student here for 12 months. We give her a home and look after her like she is our own daughter. she has this week gone back to Sweden and we are very sad to not see her anymore.

Here are some links to sites about Australian University exchanges

I dont know if this will be helpfull to people from other countries however take a look and see if this is what you want.

Exchange
Your home institution must be a University of Melbourne partner through a formal exchange agreement.

I agree that you will find Chinese, or people of Chinese descent in almost every large community in Canada. In Vancouver and Toronto, there are quite large Chinese communities. You would not only be able to find food with which you are familiar, there are even Mandarin newspapers published locally, and Mandarin television and radio stations.

The Chinese area a significantly large portion of the Canadian population.

The Chinese area a significantly large portion of the Canadian population. As for the cold, Canada is not extraordinarily cold in comparison to the northern parts of China. If you were in Manchuria, you would probably experience weather which is as cold as it is in Canada. It becomes extremely cold in the parts of Canada which are furthest north--but you won't find any universities for study abroad there.

dadpad, thank you very much. I think your daughter now must be a handsome lady. But you know in china studying abroad is not very easy for ordinary people. There are a lot of things should be considered. So the english forums are good treasure for us . Thank you for your advises.
