I run a landscaping business and I go many places. One of our trucks was just converted to run on biodiesel, which we make ourselves. Mostly we pass our fuel costs onto our customers who love to run their air conditioners and even their big screen TV's when no one is home.
I worked for man who bought a Hummer two years ago, he recently sold it at a loss and bought a Toyota hybrid - that is why I have no problem with higher gas prices, it makes people make better choices.
I'm sorry some people have to chose between food and fuel, but as a society we made bad decisions concerning our energy policies and we are all now literally paying for it.
Yes Wilso, I do see the irony. If you look back at US energy policy it was created by the Reagan adminstration who successfully wiped out the Carter administrations attempt to get us off the oil tit. Reagan said what conservatives love to hear "don't worry no one is going to take away your right to be a pig in this world, others will suffer but not you" (paraphrased by me). Cheney said the same thing a few years back and 50.1% of Americans followed him to the slaughter house.
If you want to have an eye opening experience go see the movie:
Who Killed The Electric Car.
Peace cjsha - we just can't see the world with the same eyes.
