Listening and lurking! I'm paying close attention to how to have fun in London.

<grin>

I am glad to have read about these London Meets so that I'd know to give Guatam lots of warning... we've planned a wine & dine in late September. Anyone who can come to that would be warmly welcomed. Very Happy

Well, Fioana, you just can delete the text. A moderator was already notified about 'malheur'.

PS: don't hit the "send"-buttom more then once - it WILL take the post > see above

FionaB, Welcome, and if you'd like, I can remove the glitch posts for you. The deal is, members CAN delete their own posts if they're quick about it  A member cannot delete a post once it has been replied to ... as long as it is the last post in a thread, the member can delete it. Once it is followed by one or more posts, the member can only edit it. I'll watch this thread a while for your reply, and/or you can PM me. If I don't hear from you, I'll figure things can stay as they are.

Hi all!

I've been away from a2k for a long time, as I can't get it at all easily where I'm working (in Halifax!).

I got a pm from Walter about the 2nd, which I can't make, either, unfortunately.

I hope to see you all soon.

KP! Halifax, just a several thousand mile hop skip and a jump from me! I still suggest a Toronto gathering.

Hey Walt, Gautam, KP, and all
A quiet spell at work- am waiting for a technician
And I'm stuck.

Halifax is an interesting place, but a bit run-down.
Piece Hall! Unique.

Halifax NS, never bin there.

Q. What internationally famous revolutionary gadget (hint: joke) was said to have been invented in Halifax (Yorkshire)?

Yes, sadly it's Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK rather than Nova Scotia!!!

I've only once been asked if I was from London, Canada, btw...with MY accent?

McTag, you're quite right, it's interesting but run-down. Tons of pubs but nearly all of them really seedy-looking/smelling. Nice countryside and small towns around, however - I just don't get much of a chance to see them.

Gautam - we've got the market covered!!! Wink

Halifax county, Virginia, could be nice as well, I suppose, or Halfax, Massachusetts, or ...

but all without a covered market

That is covered, but not the market, which really is very, very pretty

My post contained a question.
It's rude to ignore a question.
So what's the answer?
Eh?

Alifax, Uddersfield 'n Ull
Bastions of Roogby League!
Tha knows.

I'm waiting.

Jeez
What is it with KP and Halifax? He used that excuse when I was in London, too!
And is KP still eligible - we haven't heard of his more recent activities???
