Whoops, just to confuse you, I didn't notice I was logged in as Fiona.
'A rose, by any other name, would smell as sweet.'

We don't have 'His' 'n' 'Hers' computers.

Hee hee.

Confusingly, they are describing the London Meet III which is still going on.
I'm sure some pictures will surface in time. Walter was doing a bit of snapping, at the weekend.

I will have a picture (hopefully) tomorrow - on disc - which I will be able to post. It should be the 6 of us in the restaurant, Just James on St James Street - I think. It was very good, the restaurant that is. I don't know how the photo will turn out as a member of the restaurant staff took the picture. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Mctag has clearly forgotten that I took one or two pictures so there may even be more than one! Walter certainly took a few so I am sure we can all enjoy (or maybe even cringe, depending on who is doing the viewing) the photos of the gathering on Saturday in the not too distant future.

Can anyone help? I now have the cd with the photo - only one - of the six of us in the restaurant in London but I do not know how to attach it to a post!! Sad

I know how to attach a photo to an email and thought there might be some sort of similar system of attachments when posting on A2K. Walter did it for me last time after I emailed the photos to him but is there a quick way for me to do it myself directly on to this thread?

Frustration frustration Mad

Help

You need to put it on a public site that permits linking to this site. At present, you can't link direct from your computer. I think Walter may have used Little K's site,
http://groups.msn.com/littlekb/welcome.msnw

or use the Ravens Realm
http://groups.msn.com/TheRavensRealm/_homepage.msnw?pgmarket=en-us

This was Craven's site that pre-dated this one.

Thank you to Pifka and Margot for the help and advice. I don't fully understand the technology or exactly what is required. I need to have it spelt out in penny numbers as they say because I am not sure exactly how I go about using Little K's site. If the steps can be explained simply then I will have a go tomorrow.

Too tired just now after another very hot and humid day without air conditioning at work or home. We actually have it in some of our cars now but there is not a lot one can do in a car! Us Brits can't cope with such weather!!

Thanks again

The idea is that once you have uploaded pictures to one of those sites, anyone can put the picture here -- it just has to exist on the web first.

Both require membership before you upload, I believe -- that's not a complicated process, but adds steps. You can also just email the pics to someone who is already a member.

Gautam

Walter and I will be at the check in for the London Eye at 13.30 tomorrow Thursday. We have 4 tickets but its too hot for Mrs W and Mrs S so you can come fly with us and bring a friend if you can.

Tour of Palace of Westminster and meeting minister Bill Rammell in the Foreign and Commonwealth office (who showed us round that amazing building) was something else.

Walter took some photos. !

Lacarno room where treaty ending WW1 was interesting.

Also Jack Straw's meeting room with lots of pads and blotters and immaculately arranged sharp pencils. Didn't have the courage to nick one.

The elaborate new security system would not let us out. Walter was on the verge of phoning the German Embassy to say he was trapped in the British Foreign Office. Thankfully WW3 was avoided.

Actually Gautam that was rather a good job because I sold the tickets for £20 to an American couple! (Thats 10% discount!)

But we did wait for you until 13.45

Great flight, not too hot after all. Spectacular views. It stopped at the top, and Walter tried to get off...an easy mistake to make

Great to hear that you managed to get your flight aboard the Eye after it was shut yesterday. Sorry to hear that Mrs W and Mrs S did not manage it. I hope you guys can persuade them to go next time.

Thanks Sozobe and ehBeth for help and information. Thanks for the offer ehBeth and I will do that tomorrow as again its too late!

Actually, it stopped, because I asked for it (Steve was selling the two cards on the black market at that time) and wanted to make a space walk.

Well, we really had some nice days - with a highlight last Saturday!

this is part of the note Fiona attached with the pic :
Quote:
After all this effort I hope it will be worth it. It was not taken on a digital camera and so when I had the film developed I had the pics put on to a cd. The transfer to the screen is not brilliant but anyway it is a picture of the terrible six and it was a good day!

She sent a couple of pix of London as well, which I will shrink a bit, toss in an album and then post here. Tomorrow.

Thank you for trying ehBeth but all I have is just a little forlorn red cross in a small box!

I still have fingers and toes crossed - makes walking difficult but I have confidence in you computer whizz kids!
