Can I get some opinions please?

I am re-publishing my add for work.
If it goes anything like it did the last time I posted my add, I will have more work then I can handle

In browsing the competition, I noticed a common thread of people having small websites about their business. But nothing really 'personal'.

So, as a sales point and a counter to this common theme..

I have found a site that will let me publish my work calander online, so that my clients can see what I am doing, how long I will be, and can pick their OWN time slot with me.
All without having to contact me, and wait for an answer.

Basically.. I am an automated maid. Laughing

So- this is what I have created so far.

http://www.trumba.com/calendars/shewolfnms_calendar

It requires a password to see it. wich is
cleaning1

there is nothing personal on it as in phone number or address so I have no problem leaving it up on the internet with open access like this.
I will keep all of my entries on first name basis only with zip code as an identifying source.
But nothing more.

How do you think this looks?

What do you think of the color scheme?

Does it make you feel like you ( if you were a customer of mine) are more in control of what is going on?

Is it easy to read?

Easy on the eyes?

In my opinion, it would be a bit easier to read and quickly locate dates if there were borders, like on a wall calender.
Otherwise, I think it looks great. It sure is an interesting idea to let your customers choose their own time slots. Please let me know how that works for you. I've never heard of anyone doing this before.

here is the problem

I have NO idea what it looks like from your point of view because all I can see is what is in 'edit' and completed mode.

and it shows me borders.. Shocked but you dont see any?

What colors is the calander done in?
It should be simple greys right?

lemme go try to get some borders in there..
thank you for pointing that out.

Looks good but it wouldn't let me schedule a new time slot.

It has borders now, but it lost some of the colors somehow. It had some nice green in it, and that seems to be gone now.

well, with out giving someone my master password, I dont think I can allow people to do that.

BUT-
with someone being able to see exactly what my schedule is at any given time, they can email me and say ' I want you to come by on tuesday" and I wont have the problem of checking my calander to make sure I can do that.
They can see I am free, and can request a slot as they need it.

make sense?

It had to because the template I picked earlier, was the one that didnt show borders.

This one, is a diffrent color scheme all together, but has borders.

do you think this one is better ?

I think this one is a bit easier on the eyes, with the borders. It's too bad to get them you had to lose the color. If I knew you had to lose the color to get the borders, I wouldn't have mentioned anything. Given the two, I liked the first look better.
Sorry. I don't mean to make you keep switching them.

Oh no.
Dont apologize.
This is what I was hoping for.
Outside opinions. Very Happy

It is no problem to keep switching them.
I just dont have control over the color scheme, unless I change the template all together.
I wish I could get into color detail with it, but .. its not happening.

Can I get some opinions, please?
I really like the idea of seeing the availability, but how does the client know what length of time to "pencil" in?

I think the do-it-yourself approach is great!

I wouldn't want to see my name in there as a customer. Privacy issues, doncha know.

That alone would prevent me from using you as a service provider.

hmm.. good question.
If it is someone whom I have worked with before, they would have an idea of how long to request.

maybe I could say - minimum 3 hour request is necessary.. ? or something along those lines?

shewolfnm, if your zip code works like our area code, I wouldn't like that either, as it could i.d. the block someone lives on - sometimes even the exact house.

I'd probably work up some code no one else could interpret - or just put not available on the accessible calendar.

Here, zip codes are not that specific.

It is a general range of 10+ miles

In fact, there are parts of Austin that are referred to by zip code instead of the regualr 'north or south' side of austin.

I was thinking of a number/letter combination as well.
What I have up is simply an example of what I want to create.
Thinking, first names were ok, but you are right.. there may be people who are not comfortable with that at all.

Shewolf, watch out! I clicked on maggie (time pending) and the screen it brought up showed what I assume to be maggie's address. This won't do!
