Outstanding pictures, Walter. Chicago is such a beautiful city.
It really is. So glad the weather ended up co-operating, too (at least over that weekend -- sounds like it's been rainy since).
Walter, you've made me a little homesick. The photos are beautiful and reminds me of just how fabulous the architecture of Chicago truly is.
Seeing it all through new eyes is always a treat. Thank you.
Now you have to look at one place more often and from various perspectatives: my one and over-all favourite buildings (actually: two buildings):
The Water Tower
Now, my three favourite photos from this eries:
I know I've said it on the other thread but I went to art school right across the street from the Water Tower, in that light-colored four-storied building across from it in the above photo. It was a thrill for me, everyday, just to be in that area. I loved it. They don't call it the Magnificent Mile for nothing. And that was over twenty years ago. With the addition of so many new buildings, juxtaposing with the old, it's all a part of what makes Chicago Chicago.
Returning now and walking slowly towards the Art Institute
Instead of showing photos of art - which already has been done e.g. by osso - let's walk through Chicago at night
