My water softener is messed up.
I believe it's not cycling. My water smells and rust color is now in toilets.
Also, the 'discharge' hose that drains water into the utility tub, does not stop running at all. I've played with the timer, but to no avail.
I do not have a manual for this softener, couldn't locate one online either.
It's a Aquasystems model.

I don't know anything about the Aquasystems name, but if can post a picture I will try and ID it.
Does it look like any of
these?
Can you by-pass the system? You really should cut off the flow of water to the drain.
H20_Man....thanks for responding.
No it doesn't look like those, I've already visited their website. It might be similiar to the Series 3000 though.
It's a real basic system. With a turn dial on front for the basic controls.
I just put into manual regeneration and am waiting for that to finish.
I'll bypass once it's complete, if It doesn't return to normal.
Think it could be the control head? (internal valve?)

Yes, but that's just a guess until I know what kind of valve you have.
Model: WCC 32 T
How long should a normal cycle take?

It varies, 1 to 1.5 hours start to finish.
Was still draining, so I bypassed it, using the valve at the water 'in' and 'out' area.
I wonder if it's stuck in 'rinse' mode.

If you are unable to find a local company to ID and service it
consider swapping the current valve for a new Fleck valve or
replace the entire system with something that has local support.
HTH ~
Was hoping to fix this myself, since the house is up for sale. I'd prefer not to dump any money into it.

Post a few clear pictures of the system (the valve on top) and maybe someone can ID it. Then we can offer some DIY repair advice.
contact a local water company and see if they sell reconditioned systems I know we do and usually can a 1 yr warranty with it,
Where can I buy a Fleck valve.
The timer is hanging up in one spot all the time. I have to manually move it past the 'sticky' area of the timer.
