Cost Defective

Said the man to his boss, looking at him squarely,
?'Cost effective I may not be
But I fight my battles fairly.
I might not get the job done fast
Or pull in the clientele
But all my colleagues worship me
And I get on with them well.
So pardon me if I decline
To be the young high-flier
But I am glad I'm my own man
And not all you desired!'
Said the employer to this earnest man,
?'I don't care. You're fired!'
