Lucy Liu (with the Bond theme playing in the background instead of ooooooh barracuda [from Charlie's Angels])

Actually, I think Michelle Pfeiffer would make a great Bond.

OK folks

James Bond is definitely British, therefore the actress playing "Jane" Bond should also be British (or at least capable of a realistic accent - Gwynneth and Renee are the only Americans I can remember doing that).

There is also a need for experience, a knowledge of life and a sense of mystery. Sean Connery is (IMHO) the role model and Pierce Brosnan comes in second.

Keira Knightly is just too young and fresh. She would be unbelievable as a trained killer who graduated with a First in Oriental Languages from Cambridge and went on to be a naval commander, let alone a special agent "licenced to kill". Laughing

I can't actually think of a well known British actress who would fit, at the moment. I thought Halle Berry did a very good job as the most actively involved "Bond girl" to date...but someone like Uma Thurman (Kill Bill) has more credibility as a killer.

I'd say that Jodie Foster has the right attitude - I found her very impressive as the underhand double-dealer in "Inside Man". She's about the right kind of age as well.

I am already into writing the story of the new Jane Bond Flik

Its called OctoDicky. Cool

Here it goes ....

"Oh Jane!", said the exhausted striking plumber. The high tech lipstick vibrator of Jane was doing its job perfectly on plumber's pipe, when just at the moment the hair bow ranged and annoyed Jane siwtched it OFF with her remote Hair Gel sprayer.....

Seessh I am heading into a PORN story. Shocked Me and my dirty Mind. Rolling Eyes

I'm on board with this choice, too. I think she'd make a great Bond.

I agree on Zeta-Jones. Although not a great movie "The Entrapment", her outing with Sean Connery shows some potential:

I'm not getting a lot of positive feedback regarding my Whoopi Goldberg suggestion.

What am I ... just a piece of meat?

Whoppi's only "spy" flick was "Jumpin' Jack Flash" which didn't fare too well with the critics or the boxoffice. Not sure she would even be offered a part like a female James Bond.

Would a female-version of James Bond work as a movie? What would you name her? Who would portray her? What would her would-be male assassins' and lovers' names be? What would the quote-able lines be? Titles?

Well, there was Chalie's Angels...

I like that idea! The bunch of hottie Bond guys...

Brad Pitt
Johnny Depp
George Clooney

All way too famous to play the "hottie" role in a Jane Bond movie ... James Bond hotties are up-and-coming actresses who are just about to hit the big time (or end up not doing so) - for whom playing the Bond hottie role is a promise, not a tongue-in-cheek joke... so you should have those kind of actors to tempt/cavort with Jane Bond as well..

Good point, good point. I thought of putting Zac Efron in there but even though he's of legal age he's queasily young. But basically you're saying it wouldn't be anyone who has made a name for himself yet, anyway -- he'd show up at casting, be chosen, and THEN make a name for himself.

I call casting director...

Kate Beckinsale as, "Charlotte Bond."

Love interest: Jude Law, in the role of "Dickie Moore."
