To promote this year's Hamburg Master Series event, Becker has organised exhibition matches on a Davis Cup format featuring himself, Stich and the McEnroe brothers, John and Patrick (instead of Krickstein).

You can see "the oldies" with live photos and actual results (momentarily: Stich : Patrick McEnroe first set 7:6) here

Do you remember that in 1987 Becker defeated John McEnroe in 6 hours, 20 minutes in Davis Cup, two minutes shy of the longest match in the Open Era (between McEnroe and Wilander)?

Walter, did these two teams ever compete in a Davis Cup final? I mean Germany and USA with THOSE players.

Not in a final: 1987 it was a quarte final, I think, and Knickstein played instead of Patrick McEnroe (he was ill last weekend).

Germany won, btw, 3:1 (thus, the double wasn't played).
