We just got back from the hospital, and things are looking much better.

Late yesterday odd on survival were 50/50 with likely brain and kidney damage. Today she's stable, her kidneys are functioning again, and odd now are for survival. She's still mostly non-responisve, but the hospital thinks she's occasionally conscious and may be aware of some of whats going on around her. There is hope that she will regain consciousness tomorrow or the next day. So things have gotten considerably brighter here today.

The youngest son and his wife, fearing infection, threw out our favorite pillows, electric blanket, etc., etc. Oh well a trip to WalMart will fix all that. They return to San Francisco Tuesday. The oldest son arrived today from Korea and can stay until Saturday. They're a great comfort.

Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers.

Asherman is a good guy even though our politics are different but he is decent enough to accept the difference and not be too upset about it. I like him for that.

Natalie was still unresponsive today, but her posture is less rigid and her kidneys are functioning. Odds are now good that she'll survive. We won't know what physical/mental impairments, if any, she'll have until she opens her eyes and communications with the world.

Youngest son returned to San Francisco this afternoon, and the oldest will go back to Korea Friday. We're hopeful that she'll return to consciousness before then. In the meantime, all that can be done is being done.

The cost of this event on top of that the two months she was hospitalized last autumn will be high. Oh well ... came into life without a cent and leaving it no wealthier isn't a dead loss so long as we accomplished a little more good than ill.

So sorry to hear of your situation. I'm glad to hear your wife will survive. I know how tough this can be on the family. My wife's sister was in a hospital for a month after a car accident before she died.

I wish you and your family the best.

Good karma is money in the future bank if not the current one.

I think that you have accomplished good, Asherman and I imagine that your Natalie has too.

Just saw this thread and , to add to all the others, I hope that she returns to good health with no lasting residual effects.
