S/he was gone. For some reason, not knowing where it went has me totally freaked out. Every hair on my body was trying to stand straight up. I poked around the web to see if it'd come out, no show.

i'm never ever going down to the basement again. abandoning all of my earthly posessions, i don't care.

ohhhh come on ladies they are spiders. The best indoor insecticide you ever saw. That wolf spider in k's basement will keep the coachraoches amd silver fish down to nothing. They just arn't interested in people. If the did bite .....well they dont have very big mouths.

I think my spider is sick. She has not moved from the corner where i took the photo and all her legs are curled up around her body.

She also looks depressed.

When I asked her what was wrong she said "What makes you think some things wrong, just because i takealoadoffandsitdownfortwo secondtheresgot to be something wrong?" (in http) (which is a web language) Rolling Eyes

and then dissolved into tears............ all in the space of about 30 seconds.

What could the problem be?

Eeeeeeeew is NOT a wolf spider, nor is it a dolomedes. The famous bug guy didn't know what it was. Great.

(the famous bug guy is the "What's That Bug" website, where they identify bugs for you...)

Has the same shape as Brown Recluse, and similar to House Spider. We hope it's the latter. Brown recluses shouldn't be living here anyway. They're in the south central Midwest.

We found a live spider back in the hole. We're hoping it's the one from last night. He seems very docile and happy to stay in his home. He also seems lighter in color. So, maybe he was just post-molt when I shot him last night. Will check back tonight.

so...... earlier today, what we thought was a living spider hiding in the web seems to have been only a husk. I went back down and tried to get it out of the web. I stuck the pencil behind it, and pushed it out. So..... the big bad boy is still out there somewhere. Don't tell Dasha......

I was worried sick last night. I tossed and turned, but sleep was not to come; I worried too much about littlek and dag and the spider in their midst.

My relief that they are ok can not be measured.

If my choice of names is offensive, I apologize. I have a knack for doing that. One time my aunt was about to deliver a baby. At the same time, I got a new dog. We both chose Cynthia for names.

Offensive? I don't remember and the site/my computer is too slow for me to go back and look.
