The Sally dog and I were just sitting looking out the front window when the first icecream truck of the season cruised passed our house.
Bailey, Cleo and I saw the first one on Sunday.
Quite a surprise, since they usually don't start up til after Victoria Day <around May 24th> here.
I'll be holding Setanta's ice cream money for him.
Dys and ehBeth, that is one of the joys of New Mexico for me. I could hardly believe my eyes the first time I saw one, a month or so ago. Reminded me of paleta vendors in LA and Mexico, and those had gotten fewer in my part of LA, and we had none in north north CA. Precious sounds...
I never see one without thinking of the Pied Piper.
Why aren't there Lone Star beer trucks going through the neighborhoods like that?
Hahaha
I remember, as a child, that the deep grape popsicles tasting like wine.
I swear, next time, no matter how I am trying to get somewhere, I'll stop and buy something..
The orange and white Dreamsycles. Mmm mmm.

That's an excellent idea!
Okay, I'll come back and report. I swear, I've watched the truck go by as I was getting in my car twice now...

One of my favorites along with the drumstick
I hard a hard time deciding between dreamsicles and fudgsicles. My memory gives dreamsicles one up.
So what is in ice cream wagons now? This looks like more than paletas... I'll have to check it out, and will get back to you.
Yep, I always went with the dreamsicles too.
Oh.... oh.....oh..... How could I forget the push pops.
Drumstick - good.
Was not too crazy about fudgesycles.
We had Mr. Softie trucks that had a very distinct little musical jingle instead of a bell. My girlfriend wanted it played as she walked down the aisle at her wedding, but we couldn't find a recording and couldn't figure out a musical way to duplicate it. She thought the sound of it would make everyone happy and get them in the mood to eat.
Vanilla custard swirl with chocolate sprinkles in a sugar cone please.
The present day ice cream truck plays a maddening version of Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head. With no kids around, I generally let it pass me by.
choco-vanilla soft-serve swirl
mmmmmmmm
the dogs like to share the vanilla part
The ice cream trucks here in austin say , HEY YOU, in the middle of the little music diddy.
Pisser I tell you
when they are around to say it more then 10 times.
I remember one day about 10 years ago when I was living in the states, I was sitting on my front porch one day and the ice cream truck goes flying by. The faster he drove, the faster the music went and he was hauling.
It was funny as hell.
