On my 2006 Mazda 2600 4x4 truck the upper connection for the rear shock on one side is forward of the axle and on the other it is aft. It seems to work of course but what is the engineering logic behind the asymetric connection points?
It reduces wheel hop and improves traction. Helps axles not to torque as much.
