Is this true? If someone decides to stop being a Muslim and follow another faith, then does the Koran (and therefore the social laws that are derived from it) require, or even hint at, a death penalty?

I will say this Muslim man has not converted to Christianity...

He said he believes in the "Trinity"!

The trinity is as un christian as dogma gets...

The trinity is paganism plain and simple. Three Gods, two too many, it is idolatry and it is obvious the pagan Christians are not wasting time spreading their bastardization of Christianity in the Muslim world...

I have news for this X-Muslim he is not worshiping the Christian God he is indirectly worshiping the devil in clever Babylonian trinitarian idolatry...

He was closer to the true Christ as a Muslim...

JESUS CHRIST IS NOT GOD!!!

According to NPR, Sharia law states that muslims may not convert to other faiths.

Also according to NPR, the Afghanian police are not out looking for converts. This guy happened to be in a child custody dispute, and his in-laws decided to get nasty.

This question was not posed as a reference to any current particular case. It was posed as a general one about Islam and any other religion. The flamish kind of response of the first respondant is confusing as it does not answer the question! Shocked

Considering that Mohammed openly praised and revered Jesus Christ as a prophet and both Christianity and the Muslims have the same God I would hardly call it another faith...

Hi peterW.

Welcome to A2K.

Just like the real world, you'll find a wide variety of respondents and responses here.

wikipedia (on a disputed page) offers this ...

Quote:
Muslim apostates

In most interpretations of an Islamic state, conversion by Muslims to other religions is forbidden and is termed apostasy. Muslim theology equals apostasy to treason, and in most interpretations of shariah, the Penalty for apostasy is death.

Sorry Rex.

I just can't be silent after reading your post "both Christianity and the Muslims have the same God".

I understand that Muslims believe this to be true, but I most strongly disagree.

The God of Islam is the One who Created the Heavens and the Earth, who made the beautiful Universe, the One who Created Adam and Eve. I worship the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Jesus, Muhammad (peace be upon them all). I worship your Creator. Allah is the Arabic word for my God. Do you have a different God?

And Jim I might add too... While I'm at it...

Many Christians do not worship the same God as the Muslims because the Christians have perverted this God into a babylonian pagan religion...

So in essence trinitarian Christians indirectly worship the devil... So yes they do not have the same God as the Muslims AND "true" Christians who have NOT bowed down to the theists pagan "God head" in trinitarian idolatry...

It is apparently obvious that in my (well studied Biblical) opinion, Jesus was the son of God and not God the son... He had God as energy in him (an image) just as you and I do today through Jesus Christ...

The simple message of Christianity is a father with his children. It has been clouded with paganism (seems harsh but...) plain and simple, in the form of cunningly devised fables.

Sadly, this is not Christianity.

From my "years" of research into this I believe this pagan intrusion into "Christianity" is poised to purposefully steal the word of God, kill the love of God and destroy the hope of God. People are stuck in the Gospel logic and they have moved the church of God into the middle of tribulations. This is supposed to be a time of PEACE! They are getting the Bible all wrong and I can't seem to get this message through to anyone... It is like the truth falls on dumb ears.

There is no mystery that God has not revealed. Life is a learning existence. The "word" of God reveals all unto life and godliness. From this word the spirit is a catalyst to hope and ultimately the love of God. Not the love for God but God's capacity to love in us... Smile

So are you a Christian Rex? Or do you just define Christianity to be what RedRex believes in?
